April showers bring May.... home sales!
The best days of the year to sell a home are in May and June, with the most active days in May, according to ATTOM Data Solutions’ annual analysis of the best days to sell a home.
The analysis included 40.1 million home sales between 2011 and 2020, which revealed that homes sold in late Spring/early Summer resulted in the most significant gains. Specifically 13.4% sold above the estimated market value in May, whereas June sales closed at a respectable 11.7% above market value.
The best days to sell in the month of May are:
May 16th: 17.3% above market value
May 19th: 16.2% above market value
May 20th: 16.8% above market value
May 23rd: 19.3% above market value
May 27th: 17.4% above market value
The months with the most significant home seller gains are highlighted below:
January at 6.6%
February at 8.2%
March at 8.6%
April at 9.2%
May at 13.4%
June at 11.7%
July at 11.2%
August at 8.9%
September at 7.5%
October at 5.8%
November at 6.4%
December at 5.8%
